IM STILL HERE

OK, I have been silent for quite some time...getting to grips with life post Sara and realigning my life.  I did, despite all the upheaval, make it to Chile in April and had an amazing time.  I'm about to pop a pic at the top of the page and some more can be found at my myspace site www.myspace.com/robinnelsonmiller

i have new fundraising plans and events on the go...watch this space.

abused by a bottom...or was that a b'stard?

Alrighty folks, thats me back in sunny London, back in the land of no snow, for now anyway thankfully. One day back in and I was on the hunt for autographs for charity auction. Best moment of the day? Rik Mayall positively tearing me to shreds as he signed for auction. I think the best line was 'you went to peru? how terrible'. Well yes Rik, it may have been fun for me but it was the fundraising ahead of it that counts ;) Regardless, the man himself signed anything I put in front of him without batting an eyelid (including the excellent Trafalgar Studio's promo showing him as Alan B'stard giving 'Tony Blair' some cocaine to snort. Genius!

Got a photo with him on my camera phone, but its a bit blurry. Was also so very disappointed to miss David Tennant and Sophia Myles, discovered too late they were in town. Not to mention Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany driving past me. Oh well.

Anyways, with most of my auction stock still in Glasgow (sorry to all those awaiting items on delivery...the move means it will be 02.02.07 before anything is sent out) the only auctions that will take place will be those of 6x4 pics that I did manage to bring south, and anything that I manage to obtain myself on the streets of London.

I'm looking to hit my target for Maggie's within the next eight weeks, so auctioning will be well underway within the next fourteen days.

Cheers
Robin

happy new year

A huge happy new year to all out there who have supported me in my fundraising, I hope the festive season was a cracker and that 2007 brings you all continued success.

There are some auctions online right now, as I start to try and raise the funds for the essential costs of the trip - kit, taxes etc, with one of the best items there being a signed copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from illustrator Quentin Blake which is gathering a lot of interest.  There are several other signed books, including ones from David L Robbins, William Hague and Harley Jane Kozak, while I am planning to pop some more signed pics onto the list in the morning.

Fundraising amount continues to rise, with another 'Peru trekker' adding his sponsorship today...thanks Conehead!

Done It

I'm delighted to confirm that I have reached my fundraising target for Trek Patagonia next March.  With a total of £4350 raised, I have hit the minumum amount required to take part in the event as well as covering the registration fee.

There will be some more auctions between now and the middle of January, mostly to cover the essential costs of the trip - taxes, insurance and kit etc.

Thanks again to all of you guys who supported my fundraising!  Particularly I'd like to thank Dame Gagashag, who has not only donated such a great amount of funds, but has also not 'taken offence' at my choice of name for her

Bring on Chile!!

so close...

I'm delighted to have updated the total above to an absolutely stonking £3968.91!!  While this is of course, as usual, a provisional total, I think it's safe to say that reaching the £4000 target required by Cancer Research UK is just around the corner.  The balance of the total will be made up by the items currently selling on eBay and this will be the last sale until after Christmas.

----

Raising this amount of money in such a short period of time (its not even three months since I returned from Peru and made the decision to sign up for this event) could not have been achieved without the support of my friends, particularly those who trekked with me across Peru in September who very kindly sponsored me on this event...to Dave, Toni, Sue, Jacky, Claire, Laura and Jess and Closet Drama MacLlama...in no particular order...I thank you!

Thanks also go to The Hon. Mad Mitch MacLlama and the freshly crowned 'Dame Gagashag MacLlama' for their outstanding generosity in donating left over fundraising amounts from their Peru events.  Both amounts made a huge difference to my fundraising, with the latter's donation last week being the one that pushed me to the brink of my target!

----

Am at a bit of a loss of what else to say at the moment, other than wahey! I'm so very nearly there!  Hmmm what next?

eBay Problems

eBay is apparently having a few problems today showing all items I have for sale as when I went into my sales page there it was only showing 59/71 items and several prices were out of date.  It seems to occasionally show the full details, but all I can suggest is that you refresh your browser window after you have clicked into the screen and see if that helps.  If it doesn't, please try again later to check out my full complement of auctions.

In the meantime, the current auctions are all there, and the real current prices are showing when you click into the individual auction pages.

Thanks for your patience, keep checking back!

always in perspective...

Sometimes everything is put into perspective.  All of us who travelled to Peru in September know why we took part in the Trek, but whatever the reason, I think we all knew we would have fun doing it.  This is part of the reason I am so keen to return to South America next year to take on the Andes once again.

But, given that angle of the trek, things are placed into perspective when someone you know succombs after a battle with Cancer.  I'm never one to name names, but my family was recently affected by the loss of a friend to Cancer, and it does make you realise that its real, its not just a fun excuse to travel the world.

I am, more than ever, determined to raise funds for this cause, and to reach the £4350 target that I have set myself.

50+ auction items online at the moment

I'm writing this to give me a wee break from the monotony of listing items on eBay, which tonight is wearing me thin for some reason.  Or maybe its the pain of watching Graham Poll screwing up yet another match, and this time costing Spurs!

There are currently 52 items up for sale on my eBay link...although 24 of this total is due to close tomorrow as I seek to push further towards my target.

That target suddenly looks much more attainable, it would seem the total is due to get a rather big boost in the next few weeks, but I'm not talking about that until it gets added to the total.  Suffice to say, I'm looking forward to it.

Anyways, this post is here to promote the auctions currently online - from Tony Blair through Will Thorp to Hattie Hayridge and Mini Hoff himself Kiran Shah!  - Get checking them out!!

clear of £2k and almost half way there!

Just totted up the total and wow!  Would you take a look at that!  Can't believe that I am actually through the £2000 mark.  I mean, I know I have done this before...but given that I only got back from Peru two months ago, and I didn't make the decision to sign up for this until a couple of weeks later, I'm quietly impressed with the way in which the total has risen.  I had to recount a couple of times, and double check things but, even after postage costs are taken into consideration this week (I've estimated those costs), I'm still more than confident that I'm through that landmark amount!

Not that it matters, more auctions ending today, which should push me even closer to the target.  Don't delay, pop on by and check them out.  There will be even more items up for sale in the next massive auction date which will be tomorrow!

I had loads more I wanted to say, but at the moment I can't think what.  Maybe come back later.
